Huntsville<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fee Includes:<\/strong>&nbsp; canoe, pfd, paddle, safety equipment,<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Day Trip Leader course is to provide a Provincial certification of competence in the planning and leadership of paddling based day trip in a non-wilderness setting (front country).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prerequisite:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 17 years of age<\/li>\n<li>Basic Level 1-4<\/li>\n<li>Log of paddling experiences of include:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">a) Evidence of at least 10 separate day paddling trips showing at least 125 km total, of which at least 5 at a minimum of 3 hours duration and at least covering 15 km.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">b) Evidence of at least 5 day trips in which the candidate was responsible for some of the organization and leadership<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assignments will assigned prior to the course.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Itinerary: <\/strong>to include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trip Planning<\/li>\n<li>Equipment (selection, maintenance, quick repairs)<\/li>\n<li>Risk Management<\/li>\n<li>Crisis Management<\/li>\n<li>Personal and group safety<\/li>\n<li>Group Dynamics<\/li>\n<li>Group awareness and management<\/li>\n<li>Navigation<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Awareness<\/li>\n<li>First Aid \/ prevention<\/li>\n<li>Weather Interpretation<\/li>\n<li>Communications<\/li>\n<li>Government Regulations<\/li>\n<li>Running a Shuttle<\/li>\n<li>and more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\"><strong>If you have any questions or you require further information go to<\/strong>  <a href=\"https:\/\/kirkwoodcanoe.ca\/?page_id=24\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/kirkwoodcanoe.ca\/?page_id=24\"><strong>Contact Us<\/strong><\/a> <strong>&amp;
