100% attendance required)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Camp Canoeing Instructor (CCI) Course is to provide a provincial certification of competence in the instruction and administration of ORCKA Basic Canoeing Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Courses and Safe Canoeing Programs while either employed or volunteering at a\u00a0OCA member youth camp.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Prerequisites:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 16 years of age<\/li>\n<li>Be employed by or attending an OCA member youth camp.<\/li>\n<li>ORCKA Basic Canoeing Level 1-4 skills<\/li>\n<li><u>or<\/u> comparable skills and experience -with the permission of the Course Director: Judy Kirkwood<\/li>\n<li>in addition, some qualification in Swimming, First Aid and CPR is strongly recommended<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Itinerary<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0 This is a demanding, yet rewarding 3 day (24+ hour) course:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ORCKA Basic Canoeing Level 1-2-3-4 tandem and solo Certification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Canoe Theory<\/li>\n<li>Share knowledge and resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Learning \/Instructing theories and strategies<\/li>\n<li>Gain confidence instructing in many different situations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Practice skills sessions build into the 3 day \/ 24+ hour course<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a Camp Canoe Instructor, the successful candidate will be qualified to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Instruct ORCKA Basic Levels 1-2-3 courses at an OCA youth camp while confined to the OCA camp waterfront and the camp will provide \u201clifeguard supervision\u201d during the on or near water activities.<\/li>\n<li>Assist at an ORCKA Safe Canoeing Program.<\/li>\n<li>A Camp Canoeing Instructor is expected to promote the development of safe, competent and knowledgeable recreational paddling and to promote the development of the ORCKA Basic Canoeing Program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">&#x2666;<\/mark>Accommodations- Participant&#8217;s responsibility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\"><strong>If you have any questions or you require further information go to<\/strong>  <a href=\"https:\/\/kirkwoodcanoe.ca\/?page_id=24\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/kirkwoodcanoe.ca\/?page_id=24\"><strong>Contact Us<\/strong><\/a> <strong>&amp;
