Paddling skills 1,2,3 & Tripping level 1, we were taught food dehydration from scratch , food recipes, food safety, food barrels and how to hang or float, how and where to collect firewood, fire starting, fire safety, camp stoves and we even tore down a stove to learn on how they actually work, stove maintenance, camp dishes, pots, how to wash & disperse of the dirty water, packing out our garbage, backpacks, weight to carry, how to pack it, first aid kits and how to pack, what to carry, clothing to bring and wear, differences of sleeping bags, & Tents, water packs, drinking water safety, canoe safety, entering & leaving a canoe while on water, at a dock, beached, off a rock, or even knee deep in muck, how to pack a canoe, how to lift and carry a canoe, viewing wildlife at a safe distance, respect for the wildlife, wildlife safety, no trace camping, knots, camping hammock, compass and how to use, bush craft, team work, solo canoe, solo camping, paddling skills, different kinds of paddles and their uses, water currents, wind, the weather, we were treated like family , never have I learned so much in 5 days, I did not want to leave, and am looking forward to the next courses...Thank you John, Judy, & Kyle Kirkwood...
