Location: Huntsville
$500 Fee Includes: ORCKA Canoeing Program Manual, one year ORCKA Membership, one year subscription to Paddling Magazine.
Participant is responsible for ♦accommodations, paddles, pfd, safety kit, and supplying own canoe or *canoe rental
Prerequisites:
- Current Camp Canoe Instructor Certification
- “Refined” Basic Level skills
Rise to a new personal skill level. Participants with proven skills will earn ORCKA Canadian Style Paddling Level 1 (A-Tandem). Evaluation of paddling skills will be ongoing throughout the entire course.
- Gain confidence instructing in all 4 Basic levels
- Instruct and administer ORCKA Basic 1-4 anywhere in Ontario (not restricted to OCA Youth Camps)
- Instruct at an ORCKA Safe Canoeing Program
- Assist at future CCI Courses, and Basic Canoe Instructors courses
- Share knowledge and resources
- Practice sessions built into the 24 hr course
♦Accommodations– Kirkwood Canoe has Reserved 2 campground sites at Arrowhead Provincial Park. You may inquire about sharing with other participants (cover the campsite fees) May 15-May 20
*Arrangements may be made for local Canoe Rental -Algonquin Outfitters or Kirkwood Canoe – Speak with Judy
