ORCKA Canadian Style Paddling Level 1 B (solo)

   Prerequisite:  ORCKA Basic 4, and Canadian Style 1A (Tandem) or comparable skills and experience – with permission of the Course Director – Judy Kirkwood 

NOTE:   This is only a one day clinic only, intended as a “Skills check-out” for people who are challenging the CSP1B course.

Canadian Style Paddling Level 1 is an introduction into Canadian Style paddling or what has also been identified as canoe dance. Upon successful completion of this course canoeist will have acquired sufficient skills to consistently conduct with precision standard style paddling manoeuvres in a tandem / solo canoe.

 FYI:  CSP Level 1A is a prerequisite for either Canoe Tripping Level 3 ‘Leader”,  Canadian Style Paddling Level 2, or Canoe Tripping Instructor 1. 

Canadian Style Paddling Level 1 (tandem and solo) is a prerequisite for Canoe Tripping Instructor 2.

Canadian Style Paddling Level 2 is an advanced level of Canadian Style paddling.  It requires hours of concentration while perfecting the required Level 2 skills set out by ORCKA.  Skills must be performed both in tandem and in solo.  Upon successful completion of this course the participant will be competent in repeatedly conducting standard Canadian Style paddling manoeuvres.

CSP Level 2 is a prerequisite for Canadian Style Paddling Instructor 1 certification.
